We spoke with a couple of the Nurses today about what lays in front of us on the road to getting James home.

They are happy with where we are now, he is doing some of this own pumping while the machine does most of the work.

They are going to look at starting to defrost him (he currently being cooled to around 34 degrees) tomorrow which means he’ll be able to starting having some food again. If this is successful, then they will look at reducing how much work the ECMO (heart machine) does and slowly transition back to his organs.

Realistically this is going to take quite a while, we are going to be in hospital for the next few weeks at least.
