Found out today that London doesn't add flouride to the water supply.

Wanna know how I found out? I went to the dentist today... Not a good prognosis...

Yeah, remember there where lots of arguements about that one when we first arrived. Couldn't believe that it was causing so much heat as we've had it in Victoria for bloody ages.

How bad a prognosis?

I'm no expert on this but from what I've read isn't it children who benefit most from flouride in water whilst their teeth are developing? I think the debate is quite complex ie re what the health benefits really are. Would also be interesting to know what is added to bottled water as probably on balance most people drink more of that than tap water. I suspect it's probably more to do with drinking copious quantities of coke - 7 sugar lumps per can! Anyway, what do you need doing? Fillings?

How many fillings??? Dont ask. Its scary. Very scary.

Yeah, but the same thing happened with the liquor licensing laws... The rest of the world has had late night drinking for years, but the english still treated it as if they were the front runners of the whole thing. As for the prognosis... Bad. Can anyone say ouch?

Yeah, the kids get the benefits mainly, but so do adults in the general teeth health category. Seems that my teeth are really tight together, so the toothbrush cant clean them properly. Same intake of coke, same teeth care routine, and all of a sudden, its a horrible prognosis from the dentist... So, it could be the the lack of flouride, it could be something else that my teeth aren't big fans of... Who knows?
